John Aguilar
John Aguilar, 49, passed away peacefully at his home in Ripon on July 10, 2008, surrounded by his family, friends and two beloved dogs. John was born on Feb. 15, 1959 in Sacramento.
John was raised in Galt and graduated from Galt High School. He was the founder, president and chief executive officer of Vernon Transportation in Stockton.
John is survived by his father, Martin (wife Caroline) Aguilar of Galt; sisters, Gloria (husband Joe) Contreras of Texas and Merry Ann (husband Art) Gomez of Acampo; eight nephews and nieces, and 20 great-nephews and nieces.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie Aguilar; sister, Linda Ornelas; and brother, Gerard Aguilar.
A celebration of life service will be held Aug. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Stockton Sheraton Hotel, 110 W. Fremont Street.
Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
Salvador Lopez
Salvador Lopez, 89, died on July 15, 2008. He was born on May 10, 1919.
Services were held at St. Anne’s on July 18 with burial following at Union Cemetery. Brentwood Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
Carl P. Loll
Carl Paul Loll, 92, passed away on July 19, 2008 at Lodi Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. He was born on Feb. 28, 1916 on his grandparents Hugo Carl and Martha Loll’s ranch. His parents were Athos Carl and Stella Loll.
Carl attended Brown Grammer School and Galt High School. He continued living on his grandparents’ ranch, farming and milking cows for many years. In 1934, he married Jeannette Myers of Acampo. They were blessed with three daughters. In 197, he married Anna Gouzene of Sutter Creek, and they were blessed with a son and two daughters. After retiring from ranching, he embarked on his lifelong dream. He was a gifted harmonica player, and he and his companion, Beverly Pratton, who played autoharp, began performing. He created the Horse and Buggy music group. They toured California and Nevada for a number of years. On one occasion, they played for the Nevada governor. Declining health for both he and Beverly forced them to give up playing. He was a charter member of Galt Area Historical Society and a member of the Galt Grange. He is survived by his daughters, Rita Nottoli, Cinda (Gene) Hausauer of Galt, Jewel Schemke of Santa Clara, Lynell (Gary) Yocum of Lodi, Lori (Cornell) Bryant of Acampo; sister, Louise Dowdell of Galt; 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by Matt Pratton and family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Athos and Stella Loll; son, Carl Nathan Loll; and his loving companion of many years, Beverly Pratton.
Visitation is on Thursday, July 24, from 1 to 8 p.m., at Ben Salas Funeral Home in Galt.
A chapel services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25 at Ben Salas Funeral Home.
The graveside service will be for family only. A celebration of Carl’s life will be held at a location announced at the end of the service.
The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to Lodi Memorial Hospital or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. Two of Carl’s granddaughters suffer from Cystic Fibrosis.
Lucas Martinez
Lucas Martinez, 21, of Lodi died on July 17, 2008. He was born on May 27, 1987 in Arcelia, Guerrero, Mexico.
Lucas had resided in the area for three years and worked as a farm laborer. He attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi.
Surviving Lucas are his mother, Ofelia Cruz Beito and father, Santos Martinez Vargas, both of Mexico.
Visitation is being held from 12 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, with a rosary following at 6 p.m. at Galt Funeral Home.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, July 24 at St. Anne’s in Lodi, with Father Jairo officiating. Committal will be in Mexico.
Adan Martinez
Adan Martinez, 23, of Lodi died on July 15, 2008. He was born on Feb. 28, 1985 in Arcelia, Guerrero, Mexico.
Adan had resided in the area for three years and worked as a farm laborer. He attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi.
Surviving Adan are his mother, Osfeina Martinez and father, Alejandro Martinez, both of Mexico.
Visitation is being held from 12 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, with a rosary following at 6 p.m. at Galt Funeral Home.

Eulalia Garcia
Eulalia Garcia, 39, of Lodi died on July 15, 2008. She was born on Jan. 1, 1969 in Tepexi De Rodriguez, Puebla, Mexico.
Eulalia had resided in the area for 10 years and worked as a farm laborer. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi.
Surviving Eulalia are her husband, Alejando Santiago-Garcia; father, Luis Garcia of Mexico; and mother, Roberta Garcia of Mexico.
A Catholic Mass is being held on Wednesday, July 23 at St. Anne’s in Lodi with Father Jairo officiating. Committal will be in Mexico. Galt Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Adriana Garcia
Adriana Garcia, 17, of Lodi died on July 17, 2008. She was born on Oct. 5, 1990 in Tepexi De Rodriguez, Puebla, Mexico.
Adriana had resided in the area for 10 years and was a student. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi.
Surviving Adriana are her father, Luis Garcia of Mexico and mother, Roberta Garcia of Mexico.
