John W. McNeill
John William McNeill, 62, passed away in Denver, Colo., on April 21, 2008. He was born on Jan. 25, 1946 in Sacramento.
After graduating from Hiram Johnson High School, John joined the Army and then became a journeyman printer and worked for The Sacramento Bee. He loved fishing, hunting, cards and bowling. All who knew and loved him were touched by his humor and love for life.
Surviving John are his parents, Elizabeth and Fred McNeill; daughter, Terri; sister, Freddie (Gil) Roper; brother, Ronald McNeill; sister-in-law, Linda McNeill; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were held on April 25 at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
Peggy Fagan
Margherita Ann Peggy” Fagan, 77, a former resident of Oakland and Registered Nurse, died April 30, 2008 in Aberdeen, Wash.
Surviving her are a son, Gian Fagan of New Jersey; two daughters, Rosemary Chapman of Westport, Wash., and Kimberly Kotalik of Forest Hill, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Josiah, Gina, Kendall, Savannah, Jacob, Carlos and Felix.
No services will be held per her request.

Marshood Farhat, Jr.
Marshood Farhat, Jr., 75, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away April 24, 2008 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. He was born on Jan. 30, 1933 at New York, N.Y., a son of the late Marshood and Sarah Merue Farhat.
He was a retired grocery clerk and janitor for Lodi Memorial Hospital and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Marshood was a former Boy Scout troop leader and member of the Jaycees. He enjoyed fishing and bowling, and especially loved to talk and socialize with friends and family.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Zarefa Jobe and Rosalind Guy, and a brother, Felles Farhat.
Surviving are his wife, Dottie Jewel Martin Farhat; two daughters, Christine Curlee and Kimberly Farhat, both of Huntgington, W.Va.; son, Richard Farhat of Beckley, W.Va.; two sisters, Halima Sondraker of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Rasheeda Clawson and husband Elmer of Stockton; brother, Jamil Farhat and wife Barbara of Lodi; and two grandchildren, Abigail Curlee and Sabrina Curlee.
Pastor Jesse Lacy conducted funeral services at Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Wayne, W.Va. Burial followed at Sanders Cemetery in East Lynn, W.Va.
Alfred L. Miller
Alfred Lee Miller, 84, passed away on April 28, 2008. He was born on Feb. 5, 1924 in Ontario, Calif. He was a dairyman and lived in Galt since 1950.
Surviving him are his wife, Jackie Miller; sons, Terry Miller of Galt and Renie Miller of Sacramento; four grandchildren, Shawnna Diaz, Leslie Miller and Michael Miller, all of Galt, and Cara Miller of Modesto; and one great-grandchild, Gabriel Diaz of Galt.
Memorial services will be held at Galt Bible Church on Saturday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
Florence E. Stigelmayer
Florence Elizabeth Braunberger Stigelmayer, 84 and a longtime resident of Galt, passed way in her sleep on May 5, 2008. She was born on Oct. 16, 1923 in Beisker, Alberta, Canada and came to Lodi in 1938 with her mom and sisters.
She worked as a babysitter until she met Emil Stigelmayer in 1947. They got married in Lodi in December 1947. They moved to Galt permanently in 1953. Florence was involved with her children in 4-H Club, and was a cooking and sewing teacher. Along with her husband, Emil, they were members of the Lodi Dakota Club and Galt Grange. However, her passion was quilting. She was a lifetime member of the Lodi Quilt Guild.
Surviving her are sisters, Arlene Phillip of Sacramento and Luella Carroll of Hayward; daughters, Donna Anzeloni and Nancy Stigelmayer of Galt; sons, Steve Stigelmayer of Herald and Jim Stigelmayer of Galt; grandchildren, Tammy Baroni, Marcus Anzeloni, Brian Anzeloni, Frankie Stigelmayer, Chrissy Stigelmayer, Jason Stigelmayer, Stacey Stigelmayer, Jamie Stigelmayer and Jessica Stigelmayer; great-grandchildren, Brittany Baroni, Jayden Baroni, Bryce and Tate Anzeloni.
Preceding her in death were her husband Emil and son-in-law Paul Anzeloni.

Viewing at Ben Salas Funeral Home is planned for Thursday from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church will be held on Friday.

Jesse P. Raubach
Jesse Philip Raubach, 69, of Acampo passed away at home on May 4, 2008. He was born Sept. 13, 1938 in Woodland.
Jesse graduated from Davis High School in 1957. He worked for the University of Davis for more than 25 years. He had a love for fishing and growing beautiful flowers in his yard. He and his wife enjoyed many trips to their favorite ocean spots and enjoyed their dog companions, Rusty and Reba.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 39 years, Liana; sons, Jesse, Jr., and John (Carla); daughters, Debra (Reg) and Laurie Ann (Curt); grandchildren, Jana, Sara, Jeff and Michael Penovich, Devin and Macy Raubach, and Autumn, Madelyn and Anabella Siverling.
A service will be held on Thursday, May 8 at St. Christopher’s.
Viewing at Ben Salas Funeral Home is from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
