Obituaries for April 9, 2008 - Richard R. Steiner Richard Russell Steiner, 49, of Galt died at his home in Galt on April 3, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 2, 1959 in Torrance. A resident of the area for eight years, after 15 years in Carson City, Nev., he enjoyed scuba diving and music. Surviving are his mother, Audrey Brown of Galt; stepfather, David Brown of Galt; brother, Mark Steiner of Texas; uncle, Keith Goodwin of Oregon; and two nieces. No services are planned at this time. Ben Salas Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mary A. Miller Mary A. Miller, 89, of Galt died in a Sacramento hospital on March 29, 2008 after a short illness. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 23, 1918. A resident of the area for 24 years, she had lived in Garden Grove for 30 years. Mary was a high school teacher for 25 years, retiring from Estrellita High School in June 1993 on her 75th birthday. Her husband of 30 years, Gorman Lee Miller, preceded her in death. Surviving is a son, Lee Henderson Miller of Garden Grove and Melanie Ann Miller of Galt. Private family services will be held in Southern California. Ben Salas Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
