Harold W. Fuller
- Harold W. Fuller
Harold W. Fuller, 78, of Lodi passed away on March 18, 2008. He was born in San Fernando, Calif., on July 13, 1929 to Erles Eugene and Hazel Irene Fuller.
Mr. Fuller served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 and the Reserves from 1953 to 1956. Upon his return from the military, he pursued his education, graduating from Sacramento State in 1957 with a B.A., majoring in physical education with a minor in health. In addition to his studies, he was also an avid golfer, being named state champion of the Modesto J.C. golf team.
Mr. Fuller will be remembered for the contributions he made to the community through teaching and coaching in Galt schools for 33 years. He started as a baseball and football coach at Galt High School in 1957, where he also taught math. Seeing a need to provide the youth of Galt a chance to get behind the wheel and drive, he created the Driver’s Training Program for Galt Joint Union High School District, initiating the program with the use of golf carts.
He was a member of Sportsmen of Stanislaus in Modesto and Woodbridge Golf and Country Club. He was a master at billiards and cunning on the handball, tennis and racquetball courts, as well as the ping-pong table.
Not to be outdone on the dance floor, he also taught ballroom dancing.
He spent his retirement years between Lodi, Palm Springs and Laguna Niguel.
Ever active, he enjoyed participating in Senior Olympics, leading the way for active seniors to be on the go.
Surviving him are his three children, Brian Fuller of Patterson, Kerry (Ron) Hilder of Lodi, and Toby (Jerico) Chandler of Lodi; five grandchildren, Kelsey Fuller, Stefanie, Robbie and Trisha Hilder, and Alexandra Chandler; niece, Diane Trull of Texas; and nephew, David Fuller of Modesto.and brother, Roger Fuller.
Friends are invited to visit Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., at Lodi Funeral Home.
A service will be held on Friday at 9 a.m., at Galt Bible Church in Galt. Committal will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.

Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers donationsmay be made to the Harold Scholarship fund at Galt high School located at 145 Lincoln Way.

Brian K. Coffey
Brian Keith Coffey, 49, of Galt died March 7, 2008 in Dameron Hospital in Stockton. He was born on Oct. 13, 1958 in Lodi.
Brian lived in Galt most of his life and attended Galt High School. He served in the Army from 1976 to 1980, and worked as a forklift driver in Stockton.
His mother and father, Lettie and Keith Coffey, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his brother, Steve (and Anne Lee) Coffey; two nephews Steve and Travis of Modesto; one daughter Jean Coffey and companion, Rachel Varon of Stockton.
Alternative Burial Services are in charge of arrangements. Internment will be at the Galt Cemetery.

Esmeralda Espera
Esmeralda Espera, 68, of Galt died March 13, 2008 in Lodi after a brief illness. She was born on May 15, 1939 in Manila, Philippine Islands.
Mrs. Espera had been a resident of the area for 25 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and shopping.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Herbert Espera of Galt; children, Sonny, AJ “June”, Nancy, Ian, Alan, Adam and Robert; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; sister, Dulce; and brothers, Reynaldo and Wilfredo.
A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19 at Ben Salas Funeral Home, followed by committal at Galt Cemetery.

Deann Fontana
Deann Fontana, 50, died March 14, 2008 in Galt. She was born in Stockton on Jan. 9, 1958.
She had moved to Galt recently from Pasadena, Texas. She worked as a nurse for Davita Dialysis and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter.
Surviving are her husband, Victor Fontana of Texas; son, Brian Varnes of Arizona; father, Tommy Thompson of Florida; sister, Denise Thompson of Galt; brother, David MacRunnels of Texas; granddaughter, Briana; nieces and nephews; special friend, Thelma Donahue of Garden Grove; and all her friends at Davita Dialysis.
A memorial service has been planned for 11 a.m. on Monday, March 24 at Ben Salas Funeral Home. No viewing is planned, and committal is private.
