Florita S. Velasquez
Florita Santos Velasquez, 82, of Galt passed away on March 3, 2008. She was born in the Philippines on Oct. 22, 1925 to Serapio and Norberta Santos.
She moved to the United States in 1975 with her family, settling in the Los Angeles area. They moved to Galt in 1992. She worked for many years as a tailor, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed cooking, but most importantly, she loved her grandchildren and taking care of them. She was a member of the Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo) in Stockton.
Surviving are her husband, Arsenio Velasquez of Galt; daughter, Leah (Emerito) Elemen of Galt; grandchildren, Jeisen and Emeri-Jhet Elemen of Galt.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends are invited to visit Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home.
Services and committal will follow at Ambassador Funeral Home and Togatog Cemetery, Caloocan City, Philippines.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Velasquez’ name may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.

Jeanette K. Luna
Jeanette Kate Luna, 62, of Galt died March 4, 2008 following a long illness. She was born Dec. 10, 1945 in Alameda and had been a resident of the area for 26 years.
Mrs. Luna grew up in Lodi, graduating from Lodi High School in 1963. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, AG Luna Heating & Air. She loved to read and needlepoint but most of all having her grandchildren around her.
Surviving her are her children, Michelle Reguera (husband Troy) of Lodi and grandson Cody; son Brian Belson (wife Kelly) of Galt and grandchildren Anthony, Ashley, Daniel and Brittney; and Peggy Boyd of Virginia and granddaughter Meghan.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert Luna; grandson, Devin Reguera; and parents, Edwin and Ida Mettler.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 6 at Ben Salas Funeral Home in Galt.
