Julian Fernandez, Jr.
- Julian Fernandez, Jr.
Julian Fernandez, Jr., 38, of Acampo passed away Jan. 13, 2008 in Lodi from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Julian was born on Dec. 8, 1969 in San Andreas.
Julian moved to Lodi when he was nine and worked as a carpenter in this area for the last 22 years. His interests included fishing, camping, working, motorcycling and being with kids. He “was the kid” when he was with children.
Surviving him are his wife, Mary Fernandez of Acampo; stepchildren, Shawn Blair of Lodi and Tammy Goff of Oklahoma; six step-grandchildren, Maranda, Samantha, Daniel, Anthony, Brandon and Kenneth; mother, Linda Robinson of Stockton; father and stepmother, Julian, Sr., and Rose Fernandez of Lodi; sister, Anna Maria Fernandez and husband, Jesus Tapia of Lodi; nephews and niece, Alexander, Jr., Joseph, Christian, Jesus and Alexis; godson, Michael William Boram, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A chapel service was held Jan. 18 at Lodi Funeral Home with committal following at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to F&M Bank, 1020 W. Kettleman Lane, Lodi, CA 95240, to the trust for Julian Fernandez, Account No. 1175523719.

Thomas M. Jackson
Thomas Monroe Jackson, 59, of Galt passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 17, 2008 with his loving family at his side. He was born on July 15, 1948 in Riverside, and the family moved to Sacramento County when he was a young age.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 and then joined the Sacramento Police Department in 1970, retiring in 2002. He was a world-class pool player and an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time with his five beautiful granddaughters.
His father Roy Jackson, mother Lilyan Jackson, and brother Roy Jackson preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Kathy; sons, Ted and wife Laurie, and Greg and wife Jana, all of Galt; grandchildren, Carson, Alexis, Joslyn, Jaclyn, and Kristyn; and a brother, Othel Jackson and wife Nancy of Rancho Murieta.
A celebration of life was held Jan. 20 in Galt. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in Lodi is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alan Ries
Alan Ries passed away on Jan. 10, 2008. He was born on May 28, 1917. Alan is survived by his wife Marion Ries and their son and daughter-in-law Melvin Ries and Valerie Ries. Dr. Lane performed funeral services. Alan was buried in Monrovia, Calf.
