Obituary for November 14, 2007 - Betty L. Pickett Betty L. Pickett, 84, died in a Sacramento hospital on Nov. 11, 2007 after a short illness. She was born Betty L. Hawkins on June 3, 1923 in Houston, Texas. A resident of the area for 28 years, she came from the Los Angeles area and traveled for 11 years in an RV, then settled in Galt. She was a housewife and mother who liked boating in the Delta and reading books on religion. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Douglas Pickett of Galt, and son, Michael Henry. One son, Douglas Pickett, Jr., preceded her in death. Services will be private with arrangements being handled by Ben Salas Funeral Home.
