Albert (Al) Luna
- Bill Tucker
William “Bill” Tucker went home on Aug. 2, 2007, leaving behind his loving family. He was born in Breckenridge, Texas on Aug. 25, 1924 and graduated from high school at Salinas, Calif., in 1942.
Bill was recruited by the U.S. Army Air Corps as a crew chief and proudly served his country during WWII. He was a commercial pilot and retired teamster.
Bill raised four children with his first wife, Jean. For the past 22 years, he was devoted to his loving wife, Lois.
Bill loved flying, building planes, prospecting, telling jokes, making people laugh and snipe hunting with his grandchildren.
All those whose lives he touched will miss his humor and genuine smile.
Preceding him in death were his mother, father, youngest brother Tom, daughter Linda and previous wives, Jean and Lena.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lois; sister, Athalee; sister-in-law, Pat; sons, Michael, Rusty (wife Judy); daughter, Karen (husband Chuck), Steve Speer, Mike Rasey, Harley (wife Marlene); 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill will be laid to rest in Salinas with his brother Tom.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Hospice in memory of Bill Tucker, 1425 Vista Way, Red Bluff, CA 96080.

Dorothy Miller
Dorothy H. Miller, 89, died Aug. 9, 2007 of heart failure following surgery in Albany, Ore. She was born on July 18, 1918 in Sterling, Colo. She married Lawrence Miller in Santa Monica on Valentine’s Day in 1940.
Mrs. Miller had been a Galt area resident since 1985, after spending almost 30 years in Pleasanton. She also lived in Petaluma for three months and Lebanon, Ore., one month. She had been a civilian employee for the Navy, and spent time as a visiting nurse, housewife and mother. She enjoyed canning and preserving, needlework, traveling, raising chickens, rabbits, bird and cattle with her husband.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Lawrence Miller, and daughter, Martha Fine.
Surviving are sons, Larry Miller of Virginia and Warren Miller of Oregon; grandchildren, Greg Van Houten of Petaluma, Ed Van Houten of Acampo, Warren Miller of Modesto and Adam Miller of Virginia; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16 at Ben Salas Funeral Home with Pastor Wilburn officiating.

Albert (Al) Luna
Albert G. Luna, 61, passed away from a sudden illness in his home Saturday evening, Aug. 11, 2007. He was born in Mexico on Sept. 9, 1945.
Albert has been a resident of the Galt area for more than 25 years. He was self-employed as a climate control specialist for A.G. Luna Heating & Air. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Albert enjoyed riding his Harley with his buddies. Al, as his friends would call him, was the most kind-hearted and loving person you could ever meet. Anyone who knew him would tell you that, even on a bad day, Al could make you laugh with one of his jokes (he had a million of them). Al belonged to the Sunrise Rotary, VFW Post 9888 in Galt, Galt Business Builders, and Habitat for Humanity.
Surviving him are his wife of 23 years; children, Peggy Boyd of Virginia, Michelle Reguera of Lodi, Brian Belson of Elk Grove; brothers and sisters, Felix Luna of Modesto, Henry Luna of Lodi, Manuel Luna of San Diego, Christina Berry of Lodi, grandchildren, Meghan Boyd, Cody Reguera, Britany, Anthony, Ashley and Daniel Belson.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Felix and Maria Luna; brother, Roy Luna; sister, Arma Luna; and grandson, Devin Reguera.
Viewing will be at Ben Salas Funeral Home in Galt from 3 to 6 p.m. The Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16 at St. Christopher’s Church, 950 S. Lincoln Way in Galt.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at St. Christopher’s. A gathering at the Grange Hall will follow the service at 347 Fifth Street.
Donations can be made in his name to St. Christopher’s Church.
