Freeman F. Huisman
Freeman Forrest Huisman, 81, of Herald died June 25, 2007 at his home of natural causes. He was born on Nov. 28, 1925 to Samuel Huisman and Harmka Koop Huisman in Kamrar, Iowa.
Freeman’s family moved to Wisconsin when Freeman was 6 weeks old, and he lived there until May 1945 when he entered the armed services. He was honorably discharged in October 1946.
Freeman entered the ministry in October 1947 and spent the next 32 years, including 24 years in the Philippine Islands, as a missionary.
In October 1979, Freeman was united in marriage to Rosa Sanez from Cavite in the Philippines and resided in Sacramento. Other places of residence included Herald from 1980-1984, Chicago, Ill., from 1984-1990, and again in Sacramento from 1990-1995. They resided at Hillsdale, Wis., from 1995-2002, returning to Herald in 2002. He spent many years in building and remodeling.
Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Harmka Huisman; infant sister, Elaine Carol; sister, Geneva Young of Hillsdale, Wis.; and two brothers, Wendell of Illinois and Edmond of Galt.
Surviving him are his wife a brother, Leon (Joyce) Huisman of Herald; sister, Ellyn (Leon) Naef of Lincoln; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held June 29 at The Herald Barn in Herald. Burial will take place at a later date in Dallas, Wis. Ben Salas Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Larry P. Krueger
Larry Paul Krueger, 53, died on June 26, 2007. He worked as a building inspector for the city of Galt for 12 years, loved to golf, and was Giants fan.
His father, Arthur, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are his children, Adam and Erin; grandchildren, Lucas and Logan; mother, Irma of Galt; brothers, Jim of New York and Don, Ken and David of Sacramento; sisters, Lois Welch and Kathy Gill, both of Minnesota; former wife, Maribeth; and dear friend, Marie.
A memorial service was held June 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sacramento.
