Obituaries for march 14, 2007

Marion Bullard
- Lockie Wilder
Lockie Freeman Wilder (84), a lifelong resident of the Galt and Lodi areas, passed to eternal life Thursday, March 8, 2007 in Ontario, Calif., as she visited with her daughter and family.
Lockie was born June 10, 1922 in Lodi to Charles and Frances Freeman. She recognized and was proud of her local heritage as the granddaughter of Ralph Ellis, a founder of the Lodi News Sentinel.
She attended Lodi area schools to complete her elementary education and in 1940 graduated from Galt high School. She attended business schools to supplement her education and worked in a business capacity locally for several years.
In 1942 she met and married Benjamin Wilder, a local rancher, with whom she moved to his ranch west of Galt when he returned from service in World War II. Together they worked the ranch and raised their family.
Lockie was well known throughout this area as she shared her time with numerous fraternal organizations. She was a longtime member of Eastern Star, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Valley Oaks Grange, Galt Area Historical Society, White Apron Club, Native Daughters of the Golden West and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Lockie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ellis Freeman, husband Benjamin and three sons: Benjamin, George and James.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Freeman of Acampo; daughters, Barbara Politano of Alta Loma and Lockie Paige of Sacramento; grandchildren, Jennifer and Benjamin Wilder of Lodi; Randy, Rudy and Kristina Politano of Alta Loma; great grandsons Zakery Wilder of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Scott Wolff of Lodi. Her extended family includes several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 220 B Street in Galt. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Elk Grove Masonic Cemetery.
The family requests that remembrances be made in her memory to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Marion ‘Curley’ Bullard
Marion “Curley” Bullard (81) of Galt died March 10, 2007. He was born April 10, 1925 in Hitchita, McIntosh County, Okla.
Mr. Bullard moved to California in 1942 and settled in Galt in 1962. He became an ironworker in 1949 and worked out of Local 118 in Sacramento. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gambling.
He is survived by his children, Michael Moore of Meridian, Idaho, David (Jeanne) Bullard of Galt, Toni (Dan) Gerling of Galt, and John (Jackie) Bullard of Crescent Valley, Nev.; and his grandchildren, Sue, Rhonda, Benjamin, James, John, Mark, Amber, Dylan and Johnathon.
Preceding him in death were his siblings, Iva, Ethel, Jim, Claude, Blanche and Ora; and a daughter, Erline.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 16 at Ben Salas Funeral Home, 149 Fourth St., Galt.
Visitation will be Thursday between 3 and 7 p.m.

Robert L. Bowen
Robert Lee Bowen (70) of Galt entered into heaven on March 11, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
Robert was born on June 25, 1936 in St. Joseph, Mo., to Lorenzo and Wauneta Bowen.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Deloris Gilbert; and a daughter, Susan Bowen Rose.
Robert served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He made his career as a truck driver.
Surviving him are his wife of 53 years, Shirley Bowen; daughters, Debra (Danny) Seymour), Kathy Bowen, Rita (Randy) Bowen, Tina (Tony) Thomas and Wonieta (James) Trotti; sisters, Carol Bowen and Sandra (Marvin) Bowen; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 24, specific time to be arranged.

Ysidro Yribar
Ysidro Yribar (92), formerly of Galt, died on March 11, 2007 at his Sacramento home. He was born on April 4, 1914 in Boise, Idaho.
Mr. Yribar had been a resident of the area for 40 years. Other places of residence included Star, Idaho and Walnut Creek, Oroville and Galt in California. He worked as a rancher and carpenter, and was affiliated with the Catholic Church. His favorite pastime was playing cards.
Surviving him are his wife, Bette; daughters, Pauline, Karla and Bobbie; sisters and brothers, Lola, Juanita, John, Alice and Adrian; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Patricia Jo, and his parents and many brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16 at Ben Salas Funeral Home, 149 Fourth Street in Galt. Committal will take place at Queen of Heaven in Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice, 3841 N. Freeway Blvd. Ste 210, Sacramento, CA 95834; or the charity of donor’s choice.
