Odean L. Coker
Odean Lenora Coker (81) of Lodi, and former resident of Galt, passed away March 18, 2007 in a Lodi hospital. She was born in Dardenelle, Ark., to Virgil and Matera Davenport.
Mrs. Coker worked for Campbell Soup in Sacramento for many years before retiring in 1974. She was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church in Galt and the Lodi Salvation Army. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading Bible scriptures, cooking, crafts, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She will best be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Coker and wife Glenda of Big Spring, Texas, V. Gale Coker and wife Alita of Pine Grove; three daughters, Glenna Oaks and husband David of Jackson, Sue Woods of Lodi, Pamela Evans and husband Robert of Lodi; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Glenn Coker, in 1965; son, Danny Coker in 1999; four brothers and six sisters.
A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Lodi Funeral Home, followed by interment at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 to 8 p.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home.
Evelyn Pescador
Evelyn Pescador (56), formerly of Thornton, died March 13, 2007 in Stockton of natural causes. She was born April 20, 1950 in Sacramento.
Mrs. Pescador worked in Stockton as a nurse’s assistant and enjoyed sewing, watching game shows on TV and shopping with her family. She also liked to crochet.
She is survived by her son, Joe “Sal” H. Guillena of Galt; mother, Eleanor Guillena of Thornton; sisters, Constancia Sanchez, Margarita Guillena, Stella Guillena; brothers, Francisco Guillena, Jr., and Joseph Guillena.
Her father, Francisco Guillena, preceded her in death in 2005.
A chapel service for Mrs. Pescador was held Tuesday at Ben Salas Funeral Home, and she will be laid to rest with her husband at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 21.
