Magdelena Alonzo Keese
- Melcie Biggs
Melcie Biggs (78) of Galt died Dec. 6, 2006 at a local hospital of natural causes. She was born Aug. 2, 1928 in Stoughton, Mass., and has lived in Galt since 2000.
Mrs. Biggs lived in Boston, Folsom, Sanger, Santa Paula and then evangelized throughout the U.S. and eastern Canada for 14 years. She retired as a medical transcriber after 20 years. A member of the United Pentecostal Church, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, cross-stitching, sewing, crafts and singing. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who was loved by all her knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Harry Biggs of Galt; daughters, Gail (Jerry) Floyd of San Luis Obispo, Pearl Marie Biggs of Escondido, and Pam (Rev. Larry) Lyons of Galt; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter; brothers, Ted Stratis of Hawaii and Jim Pappas of Massachusetts; and sister, Ann Melikas of Rhode Island.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Calvary Evangelism Center in Sacramento with Rev. Larry Lyons, Rev. Fred Hartley and Rev. Kenneth Baglin of United Pentecostal Church officiating.
Ben Salas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Magdalena Alonzo Keesee
Magdalena Alonzo Keesee entered into rest Dec. 13, 2006 at the age of 83. She was born in Santa Ana, Manila, Philippines on Sept. 17, 1923 to Francisco and Dorothea Alonzo.
She was married to Oscar Keesee in 1944 and arrived in the United States in 1966, settling in Galt with her husband and children. She retired as a CNA after 25 years. Her joys included loving God and family. All who loved her will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; sons, Oscar, Jr. and Michael.
Surviving are her children, Peyton (Ann), Anthony (Kathy), Henry, Annabelle (Hippocrites) Deniozos, Elizabeth (Fred) Stroh, Dorothy (Alex) Cherkas; sister-in-law, Annabelle Stearns; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited at Galt Funeral Home on Sunday with a mass of Christian burial celebrated Monday in St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. Interment followed in Galt Cemetery. Elk Grove Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Cecil Ursuery
Services were held Dec. 19 in Sacramento for Cecil Ursuery who died Dec. 12, 2006 at the age of 84. He was born in La Mesa, Texas on Feb. 22, 1922.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Dottie; seven children, Jerry, Larry Butch, Bob, Shirley, Lynda and Judy; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stanley K. Anderson
Stanley K. Anderson (52), a lifelong resident of Galt, died Dec. 16, 2006 at his sister’s home in Galt after a short illness. He was born Dec. 7, 1954 in Lodi.
Mr. Anderson was self-employed and raised exotic birds. He enjoyed gardening, raising birds, horseback riding and spending time with his family.
Surviving him are one sister, Joyce Bechears of Galt and one brother, Ron Anderson of Marysville, plus many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held. Ben Salas Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

,u>Marcos C. Roldan
Marcos C. Roldan, aka Papa, a three-year resident of Galt, died Dec. 17, 2006 at the age of 98 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on April 25, 1908.
Papa was an active member of the Filipino community and various lodges throughout his long life. He retired at the age of 82 and had time to fish, garden and travel in his motor home. He became a citizen of the United States at the age of 85, after which he helped teach and tutor many others from his country to become citizens.
Papa leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Lily; five children, Steve, Rocky, Linda, Bobby and Marlene; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
His youngest son Alan and grandson Josh preceded him in death.
