Ignacio Macias
Ignacio Gudino Macias of Galt passed away in Galt on Nov. 9, 2006 at the age of 75. He was born in Mexico on July 1, 1931 to Ignacio and Dolores Macias.
Mr. Macias came to the United States 50 years ago, first to Thornton, and then to Galt within the last 10 years. He was a cannery worker for at least 30 years, having worked for TVG. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving him are his wife, Silvia Macias of Galt; 16 children, numerous grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters. One sister preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Nov. 15 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi, with committal following. Lodi Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Norma Jean Caldwell
Norma Jean Caldwell, 69, of Lodi went home to the Lord on November 15, 2006. She was born on August 14, 1937 in Tripp, South Dakota to John and Olga (Reimann) Huether.
She moved to Galt, California with her family in December of 1952. She attended Galt High School and graduated in 1956. After graduation, she married Walter Caldwell at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in 1957. She went to work for Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, worked at Super Mold in Lodi, and worked at Burton Shoes as the bookkeeper for many years.
In 1974, they moved to Lodi, California where they operated several successful convenience stores in the Lodi/Stockton area.
She was an active member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church for 48 years and thereafter has been a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Lodi. She was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was a life member of the Deborah Circle at the Galt Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Caldwell of 49 years; dear daughter, Kimberly Caldwell of Lodi; beloved sister, Marlene Strapp of Galt and husband LaDon; beloved brother, Curtis Huether of Parkston, South Dakota and wife, Gail and many nieces and nephews, who all loved her so dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Olga Huether.
Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi. Committal services will immediately follow at Galt-Arno Cemetery.

Susan Lynn Campbell
Susan Lynn Campbell passed away in Granite Bay on Nov. 17, 2006. She was born in Glendale on Sept. 15, 1955 and graduated from Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks.
Susan was the loving daughter of Art and Beverly Dunahoo of Galt; beloved mother of Kendra (and Corey) Hanson; and grandma of Michael Hanson. She was beloved by her lifetime companion, Robert Noss, and was the light of his life. She was loved and will be missed by her brother, Steven Michael (and Shala) Campbell; sister, Debra Lee (and Alan) Albright; and stepbrother and sister, Marcus and Cyndee. She was a devoted aunt to eight children in Carson City and Las Vegas, Nev. She will be missed by her aunt, Phyllis; and uncles, Parker (Mary) and John (Debbie).
Preceding her in death were her father, David Lee Campbell; and her grandfathers and grandmothers.
Friends are welcome to attend the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, at First Baptist Church, 653 A Street, Galt.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to First Baptist Church of Galt or your favorite charity.
Shirley DeAnna Smith
Shirley DeAnna Smith died in Oakland on Nov. 11, 2006. She was born Dec. 8, 1975 and graduated from Galt High School in 1993. She lived in Lodi, Stockton, Galt, Hayward and Oakland at various times throughout her life.
Surviving her are daughters, Lil Dee and Asia; son, Michael; her mother, brother and sister in Corning; a grandma and great grandma, two nephews, one niece, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff.
