First County Line girls soccer tournament a success

- County Line Youth Soccer League held its first ever girls soccer tournament Aug. 9-10 and saw family, friends, and great weather turn out for the tournament.
Thirteen teams participated in the tournament, said league president Denise Lucero, and CLYSL hopes to make the tournament an annual event with expanded participation.
Teams from Livermore, Vacaville, Elk Grove, and El Dorado Hills, among others, turned out for the tournament, which featured multiple games per team on Saturday and championship games Sunday at both Veterans Field and Estrellita High School.
County Line will begin league play after Labor Day weekend, and the recreation league will host its opening day Soccerfest on Aug. 16 at McCaffrey Middle School.
The 8U boys and girls and 6U boys and girls will play opening day Aug. 23 at fields including Arcohe, Greer, McCaffrey, and Oak View.
The 10U boys and girls will play at McCaffrey and Oak View and the 13U boys and 13U girls and co-ed teams will play at Arcohe, McCaffrey, Oak View, and Veterans Field.
