Briggs named SVC Player of the Year

Kim Briggs won the Sierra Valley Conference Player of the Year after a year in which she was second in the league in home runs and slugging percentage and was among leaders in two other categories.
Briggs had four home runs and a .725 slugging percentage, was third in the league with 25 RBIs and second with a .536 on-base percentage, and earned All-League for the third time.
In all, five players were voted All League.
Sophomore outfielder Dani Wise had a .365 batting average, 13 runs, 23 hits, 11 RBIs and one home run and earned her second All League award.
Sophomore shortstop Leanna Reyes had a .362 batting average, 20 runs, 34 hits and 15 RBIs.
Senior pitcher Elise Fry had a 1.815 earned run average, went 10-4 in pitching appearances, was third in the league in wins and had 53 strikeouts.
Senior third baseman Bailie Diehl was second in the league with nine stolen bases, had a .341 batting average, 16 runs, 29 hits and 22 RBI. This year was her third time earning All League for the Lady Warriors.
Junior Lauren Reyes received an honorable mention for her .309 batting average, 18 runs, 25 hits, six RBIs and one home run, in addition to six stolen bases.
Booster Club Awards
Lauren Reyes won the defensive player of the year for the super job she did at first base, second base and outfield
Dani Wise won the offensive player of the year for being the second leading hitter on the team and always came up big in clutch situations
Kim Briggs won the Most Valuable Player for being a team leader, having outstanding defense and leading the team in batting average, RBIs and home runs.
Coaches’ awards
Sarah Hamon won the Most Improved Player award, Riley Sexton was Freshman of the Year and Leanna Reyes was the Newcomer of the Year.
