The Galt Illusion played five games over the weekend at the Galt softball complex, in a showcase tournament that allowed them to face off against teams such as the Outlaws, Fury, and Heat.
The Illusion played three games Saturday and two games Sunday, finishing 2-1 against their opponents Saturday.
None of the games over the weekend counted in the scorebooks, but rather let teams face some competition before the actual season starts.
In its third game Saturday, the Illusion won 6-2 against the Fury, using the power of several innings to score its runs.
Kierstin Dalbianco and Riley Sexton combined to pitch for the Illusion, which is made up largely of players from Galt High School’s junior varsity softball program and several players from the varsity program.
In the first inning, Kayla Rodriguez walked before Leanna Reyes and Riley Sexton both singled.
Sexton then hit an RBI single for a 1-0 lead.
In the second inning, Denora Perez walked and with two outs, Alissa Greenhaw hit a single.
Rodriguez and Reyes then walked to give Galt a 3-1 lead.
Sexton then hit an RBI single that scored Greenhaw and Rodriguez and sent Reyes to third base for a 5-1 lead.
Allison Barsetti then hit an RBI single that scored Reyes.
The Illusion won its first game 4-0 and lost the second game 5-1 Saturday.
