It’s never too soon to instill a sense of pride in academic accomplishments in kids. To that end, the little ones of Galt’s City Tots program walked the walk and promoted to elementary school last week at a special ceremony held in the Littleton Community Center.
Each class sang special songs to entertain the many family and friends of Galt’s littlest students, ages three and four. They showed off not only their talents but their listening and paying attention skills as well, demonstrating they are ready to head on to kindergarten.
Galt Vice Mayor Don Haines joined the festivities, harmonizing with the kids in a few tunes, and congratulating them for their first academic successes.
Group 1 performed “Shake Something.” Group 2 performed “Slippery Fish.”
Group 3, which included Karli DalBianco, Isabella Felix, Garrett Freeland, Kadence Fry, Rosy Garcia, Jaclyn Jackson, Joslyn Jackson, Tyler Johnson, Maria Moore, Ian Morris, Benjamin Parkin, Parker Raymond, Shelby Reuthinger, Alexander Smoot, Makynna Snow, Ashlynn Staley, Malia Strayhand, Eliyana Stump, Heidi Swank and Jasmine Truong, performed “Boop Boop Didit Dadem Waddum Shoop.”
City Tots is open to all Galt residents and is offered through the Galt Parks and Recreation Department. Classes are held at the Littleton Community Center located at 410 Civic Drive in Galt.
The City Tots program is designed to meet the developmental needs of the preschool child in the community. It is an opportunity for the child to work within his/her peer group for cognitive, social, academic, physical and creative areas of development. A hands-on type of teaching will take place with teachers dedicated to providing a nurturing learning environment for an enjoyable and positive experience.
Children must be potty-trained. Class sizes are limited to 20 students. Registration for the coming year has already begun.
Please call the parks and recreation department office at (209) 366-7180 to verify availability and to answer any questions you may have.
