In what will likely be a difficult but heartfelt beginning to farewell, Eulalia Garcia and Adriana Garcia were remembered Tuesday by their families with a visitation and rosary at Galt Funeral Home, and the private visitation and rosary for Adan Martinez and Lucas Martinez will be held today.
The four were victims of the fatal Westley vehicle crash July 15 that took the lives of seven people.
The families chose Galt Funeral Home to begin their farewell to their loved ones after a teacher to farm workers and a member of the Mexican Consulate of Sacramento recommended the facility to handle the funeral process, said Humberto Martinez, a relative of both Lucas and Adan Martinez.
Visitation for families will be held today, and rosary will be held at 6 p.m. this evening at Galt Funeral Home.
Eulalia Garcia, age 39, was born in Tepexi De Rodriguez, Puebla, Mexico and was a resident of Lodi for 10 years.
Adan Martinez, age 23, was born in Arcelia, Guerrero, Mexico and had been a resident of Lodi for three years.
Lucas Martinez, age 21, was born in Arcelia, Guerrero, Mexico and also lived in Lodi for three years.
Adriana Garcia, age 17, was born in Tepexi De Rodriguez, Puebla, Mexico and was a student and Lodi resident.
A mass for Eulalia Garcia and Adriana Garcia will be held today at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at noon at 215 W. Walnut in Lodi. The public is welcome.
A mass for Lucas Martinez and Adan Martinez will also take place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Thursday at noon.
“We got a lot of help from friends and the community,” Humberto Martinez said Tuesday morning in Galt.
“On behalf of my family and the others, we thank the community,” Martinez said.
The families have received donations from various organizations but still needs donations to help pay for the cost of shipping the deceased to Mexico, said Rose Ander of Galt Funeral Home.
There are two accounts open for donations to pay for shipping to Mexico.
