Oak View Bulldogs ready for high school
Chiechi says goodbye

Oak View Principal and Superintendent Bill Chiechi says farewell to the Class of 2008, the final class he will preside over at Oak View as he has retired as of the end of this year.

- It was an emotional farewell to elementary school for the 2008 Oak View Elementary School promotion class, as they not only said goodbye to a school that feels like family, but also to a principal and superintendent who is universally admired.
It was a small sea of blue and gold at the GHS gym on June 5 as several dozen Oak View Bulldogs entered the Warrior gym to say goodbye to elementary school and hello to high school.
For many at Oak View, leaving the campus they have been on for all of their school days, so far, is a little like leaving the family for the first time.
Oak View Superintendent and Principal Bill Chiechi addressed the class, telling them to look forward to their future successes in school.
Chiechi said goodbye to Oak View at the end of the 2008 school year after 22 years as that campus’ leader. Chiechi credits the success of Oak View, a California Distinguished School, to the tight knit, family-like connection the students have as an advantage over some larger schools.
Mike Scully, former principal at Fairsite Elementary School in Galt, has taken over the lead at Oak View.
